My 2007 Kia Rio collects water in the trunk every time it rains. Does anyone

check your tail light gaskets, trunk gasket too

Yes. Surely that much standing water is not coming from tail light gasket. Trunk lid gasket looks fine too. Anyone recommend drilling drainage holes until issue can be solved?

you'd be amazed how much can leak in from the taillite gaskets. No need to drill holes , there is a rubber drain plug under the spare, take it out

I have 2019 Kia Optima w/ 900 miles on it. Grabbed my golf clubs from the trunk and the grips were wet. Wtf? Usually my clubs not wet until I retrieve them from a water hazard! Anyway on the way to the dealer Monday. My concern is that we had very little rain so ....and the taillights must be in perpetual dampness. H2O & electronic stuff not a good mix!

I have a 2003 Kia optima, same problem. I noticed 2 sqare holes behind rear license. I taped over them. Hope that works.
