the o/d off light is on; how do I turn it off?

on the gear shift leaver there is two buttons. the top one is used to get it out of park and the second smaller one controls the o/d fuction

I appreciate the above post to my similar question. As for me, I tried turning off the O/D button on the gearshift, and the light still won't go off. The KIA manual also says it's supposed to go off -- clear, so to speak -- when you shut off the engine and turn it on again. However, it still says O/D OFF. Any expert help with this issue? I can't drive my automatic with only 3 speeds, of course. Thanks!

i have that problem when i accidentally spilled something in the shifter.hoping it is gone now that the liquid is gone..that worked left overnight..all better.had it since 2007 & spilled twice. this worked both times. but basically screwed until the sensor or whatever that is dries out

Mine doesn't have a button on the side for over drive
