Kia Spectre passenger airbag off light comes on. What does this mean?

It could mean that the passenger air bag switch is in the "Off" position. It could mean that there is a open condition in the passenger air bag circuit.

Spoke with the Kia service person who said that this is built into the system. In other words, the light indicates that there is no one sitting in that seat, and the passenger air bag will not deploy. If a person over one hundred pounds sits in the seat, the message turns off, and the airbag is set to deploy.
