why my trsmission locks in park and reverse

  Every so often my transmission locks in reverse and i can't put it into park until i use a screwdriver to override the lock

sounds like something broken in shifter,take to your mechanic.

Your park interlock switch may be broken, the car may think that the brake is not on and won't let you shift.

Hi I have 2009 Kia Rio Reverse doesn’t work and I replaced transmission after replaced again have same problem Thank you for helping
