Alarm;ignition;key alarm

Asked by Oct 22, 2019 at 05:34 PM about the 2004 Land Rover Range Rover HSE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 Range Rover HSE.  Great car!
However, this morning when getting out my
car, I locked the car with the key alarm. Left
something in the car...opened door with
key...alarm went off...I hit the unlick pad on
the key to turn off the alarm, once in car, I
kept hearing a ticking sound...I then put the
key in the ignition...car will not start...now
key pad doesn't work at all to unlock or
Unlock car. I assumed maybe battery would
need to be charged,(which I thought was
interesting, being that everything has been
fine, up to this morning)so, I used a portable
jumper, which I was able to get dashboard to
light up, radio comes on, windows were able
to roll up and down, but ignition would not
start( kept giving a ticking sound, when
attempting to start). Now, that I've
disconnected the portable jumper...I'm back
at ground zero. Please advise.
