Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Engine was ticking a little when acceralerate. Now it
ticks when its just running. Not sure where to start.

Ticking could be an exhaust leak or a flat lifter so don't install a new engine until you are sure it is bad. You will pay north of $5,000 for a rebuilt engine installed.

Thanks. Is replacing the lifter very expensive if that the case. I only hear it while accelerating but now it happens when I crank it. No loss of power or oil

I suspect the exhaust leak over the lifter so have a muffler shop check it out. Try listening to the engine with the hood up to get an idea of where the noise is coming from. Replacing lifters is a lot cheaper than a new engine.
