my car engine starts but when put in drive doesn't move

while entering onto highway my car decelerated by itself i was able to pull to
the shoulder side of highway but my car wouldn't accelerate my car battery
light and brake light turn on

Sounds like it just went dead, I would have the alternator checked, and look for bad wiring, also a blown main fuse.

That's what exactly happened to me a month ago, I just had to take it to the shop and it was running again.
