1996 X90 4X4

i have a 1996 x90 4x4 auto with manul locking hubs. my problem is this. a few mounths ago the front wheel drive stopped working . there was no bang no boom or any other signs of damage.there is no sounds grinding gears thumps or bumps when driving in or out of 4 wheel drive.  what the heck could it be !! ????     r.j.

sounds to me one or both of the hubs are not locking into the drive shaft u need to pull it apart not a fun thing todo there are alot of small parts in there and quite easy to loose track of them i would take that job to a garage
