What to do with Saab that's motor fried when out of town (and isn't worth repairing)?

I recently inherited a 2001 Saab 95 that appeared to
be in Like New condition. Just over 2 weeks ago, I
had the car looked over by Pep Boys. They assured
me the engine was AOK and encouraged me to get
2 new tires and a realignment, which ended up
being a $550 investment.
Today I drove to a nearby town (70 miles away).
While there, the car's exhaust began ridiculously
smoking and soon-after stopped functioning
altogether. I had It towed and diagnosed. It needs a
new motor, which apparently costs a couple grand.
The car is not worth that investment.
If I were to have the car towed back home, it would
cost $200, which I'm assuming isn't a good
investment either. What are my options? Sell the (2
week) used tires? Sell the Saab's parts? Donate the
car and write it off on taxes? ...Depending on my
options, who buys used tires and Saab parts? Does
a car have to be in working condition in order to
donate it? Etc. Please help!

So, a new motor costs even $3,000 , you know, that's the sales tax on a new car these days.... If that's all it really needs, you might consider it and drive the car for a few years, get some value for your money and sell it.
Thanks for the response, Max! Unfortunately I'll need a new car in about a year anyway (Our growing family will need a 6+ seater). The car is valued under $2k. So pumping more money into it for a new motor isn't really feasible... Just trying to make the best of the situation we're currently in...
Maybe you could just fix it for one year and it will be less expensive? You can't sell a non working car.... And , you might get some of your investment back.

Sell it to a scrap yard. No saab of those years is worth fixing. They eat money and good intentions for snacks.

Those tires should of came with a 30 day buy and return for any reason like I did not like these tires for any reason and get your money back, If you donate it its just a write off on you taxes which is very little help but if selling the parts is feasible for you then EBAY is the key, craigslist is full of scammers and it take too long and too many wanting it for free, but EBAY you could make money of it in time, but a scrap yard is money back in your pocket now, call around to every place that may buy to get the most you can for it. Last option take it to a car auction and let the auction house push or pull it in/out the door and take a chance it sell for hardly no money or good money.
engine is right- get rid of the SAAB- as quickly as possible- put an ad on Craigslist and advertise it for parts- there are devoted SAAB owners out there who will swoop down on that car like vultures on road kill- it can not be donated, and those parts are so rare and unobtainable, you might even get 6-7 hundred dollars for it- but you will have to put up with calls and meetings with Saab owners- so brace your self-
