Asked by mack Oct 17, 2007 at 09:11 PM about the 2000 Saab 9-5 2.3T Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The thing lights up lilke a christmas tree and the speedo's totally dead, stuck at zero. Also, my radio panel hasn't worked right fo a couple years - it's losing pixels like mad and is impossible to read now. HJelp!

Sounds like the printed circuit for the dash cluster assembly is fried. You can get these rebuilt, look online for "digital dash rebuilders." Radio panel may be unrelated, you will probably have to get a remanufactured radio from Saab if you want to stay with factory parts.

Don't know about the dashboard, but as far as the pixels, check out this site: http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/class/parts.html Look for the listing for Guy Senesac... he can repair the missing pixels. I sent my display to Kramer Micro Repair.... BIG MISTAKE. Not only did he do crummy work, but he scammed me out of money, too, with his fake warranty.
