Operate soft top

Asked by GuruLGXSQ May 06, 2019 at 01:50 PM about the 2005 Saab 9-3 Aero

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My top wont close completely. It's 2 inches away to
lock latch. I can still here the motor but top doesn't
move. I think I need fluid in the motor located in the
trunk. But I read the top must be down when you
fill the fluid and bleed out the air in the lines. So my
question is.... How does one lower the top
manually for a 2005 Saab 93 Aero?

If it only needs to move 2" I would gently push on it to see if it will lower the rest of the way.

It wont latch even when pushed and the car knows that so it wont unlock the trunk as it would when the top is completely up or down

Within 2" should not change the fluid level in the reservoir much. I would add fluid if needed but leave it just slightly under the full line.

You could also try raising the top and then helping it down as it moves.
