My 95 98 olds cuts out and dies while driving

Asked by Apr 22, 2017 at 12:40 AM about the 1995 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight 4 Dr Regency Elite Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

'95 98 oldsmobile. Cuts out and dies while driving
at any speed. Even when driving 55. Starts right
back up tho. Changed coolant temp sensor and air
temp sensor. Is a little better but still cuts out and
it's a rough cut out. Has a hard time starting, was
worse in winter, but since the coolant temp was
changed, it starts withing 2 tries but still has
issues. It also started to ding 4xs about 15
seconds after starting the car, and never used to.
Please help. It's been a mystery. Thx!

Had same prob, mine turned out to be crank sensor,, its the one behind the bottom pulley, it would die when driving, scarry thing. Changed it and drove another 50k before i sold it

Thanks for the input. I will relay the info to my help. It has 226,000mi now, so I can only hope I can get another 50k out of it. I'll drive til I can't anymore.
