My car ran rough for a few minutes. I parked and turned it off. When I tried starting it again about 1 hour later, it turned over roughly and died. It appears the flywheel may be stuck. What would cause that?

Car won't run now. It was fine on Friday and died on Saturday. Mechanic says
flywheel appears stuck. Can't look at for a day or two. I wonder if I broke timing
