Why does the "Bonnet Open" error message come on while driving the vehicle and how can I fix this?

"Bonnet Open" error message comes on
during driving and it is not open. Further,
unable to always successfully lock car after
parking without re-starting the car, opening
the hood and then turning the car off. HELP!

FordNut: The bonnet/hood IS closed when the error message is displayed. That's the problem.
