2005 X-Type Electrical Issues w/ Amp causing battery to go dead!

Asked by Jul 07, 2017 at 11:02 PM about the 2005 Jaguar X-TYPE 3.0L

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello to all,  I have a 2005 Jag X-Type 3.0 V6 that I purchased from a co
worker with electrical.  He took it to a garage and they said the amp in the
rear drivers side is causing a short making the battery go dead and
needing replaced.  There are 2 plugs on the amp:  a larger one on top and
a little smaller one on bottom.  If the top plug is in, no problems.  If the
bottom one is plugged in,  there is 120 ohms from positive to negative
terminals.  Once unplugged, it goes back up into the megaohms.  Does
anyone have any insight or has anyone seen this problem before?  How
about a fix?  Thanks, Adam
