No power to the car

My friend has a 2002 jaguar x-type and when I put the key in and attempt to start it, no power gets to anything in the car. I mean, i'm no mechanic but when you turn the key to accessory the radio should come on and the dashboard lights should come on as well. The owner will let me drive the car when I need to so please help me fix it because I am aching to get behind the wheel!

Is the battery charged? Does it have a battery?

Yes, it has a new battery and from what they were telling me there isn't anything else wrong with the car other than what I described.
