Gearbox fault

Asked by Mzunique81 May 02, 2017 at 10:46 PM about the 2002 Jaguar X-TYPE 2.5L AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Jaguar X-type 6v. And i was driving it
yesterday, and all of a sudden it went down. It
wouldnt take any gas at all and the light kept
saying service engines fault and gearbox fault. I
took it to a mechanic and he thought it was a tune
up. But thats not what it was. He checked the
transmission and that wasnt it either. He said that
it was a throttle body sensor. Can you give me your
opinion before i go and spend money on
something i dont need.

Have the trouble codes read and post them here. Anything else is just a guess.
