Transmission stalls after car gets hot

So it could be the cooler is plugged and the trans is overheating, the filter is picking up crud off the bottom of the tranny pan and restricting fluid flow when it warms up, or the transmission is just plain getting tired.

or the torque convertor in the trans is locking up at idle. If you can restart the car in park and it runs in neutral, but dies in reverse or drive, that is most likely your problem. You can unplug or disable the lockup feature on some vehicles.

Where do you unplug the lockup feature ?

It would be located on top of the trans housing if it had one.
