Couple questions: Do you hear the cooling fans come on when it starts to get hot? if not, you have a cooling fan issue. Has the radiator been flushed and new coolant added in the recent future? It could be a bad thermostat or a clogged radiator.

If fans don't come on, there is a mofset relay mounted on left frame rail, close to the radiator. This relay allows fans to speed up or slow down. It's not just on or off. I've replaced a bunch of these.
