Will crank but won't start
If you have the original keys and the orange wires in the steering column have been cut you need to reconnect them. That's the wires for the VATS security system. Without the correct key it still won't start though. Same deal if the lock cylinder has been removed. You need the correct key blank for it to start. HTH. -Jim
They key was stolen wit the car when I got the car back the steering colum was broke n it was cracking but not starting when I went to start it with a screwdriver
You absolutely can't start it with a screwdriver. You'll have to get a replacement lock cylinder and then have your local GM dealer or locksmith determine which VATS key blank you need. That's the only way to get it running again. The fuel and ignition systems have been shut down by the VATS security system. HTH. -Jim
