07 Toyota Solara

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Was driving my 07 Solara and all of the lights went
off. I pulled over and shut the car off and it would
not start back up. Would not jump off either, but
lights came on and radio would not. Could not get
it to go into neutral. Bought the battery last year.
Any ideas?

A test of the battery and the charging is where we would start the diagnosis. Did you notice any warning lights on or flashing when the engine was running?

No warnings. Lights went out. Car was still running. Pulled over and turned the car off and it wouldn't do anything after that. Put a hot battery in. Still nothing. A/C nor radio will come on. No clicking. Nothing. Checked the ground to the starter. Everything is good there. I'm leaning on it having something to do with the anti theft system. Is there a way to bypass that?

If you have an extra key ...you might try that. I do not know of a way to bypass the ATS. Also consider checking fuses and relays. This vehicle should have a start relay. One would need a Digital Volt Meter and a wiring diagram for proper Diagnosis.
