that was a misprint, the belt did not break. from what i can surmise the air conditioner broke in two after a new alternater was installed. as if the alternater was not installed right and made the belt too tight and broke my air conditioner unit. it did it within the hour and my mechanic is avoiding me. i need to get it fixed and i don't want the same problem

I rather doubt the alternator change broke your AC compressor but you can try to get a second opinion from someone who can actually look at it.
