91 k1500 starter problems

My 91 k1500 occasionally will not start because the starter sounds like it's stuck or grinding, engine won't turn when
it does it. But only happens randomly like once or twice a month and will do it about 5 times before it stops doing it
and turns on. Should I just replace the starter or is it something else?

No defiantly not clicking, it sounds more like if you urn the key when the carbid already on.
