Leaking passenger Side coolant with truck not running

Asked by Whatchaneedtodo Jan 01, 2016 at 10:00 PM about the 1992 Chevrolet C/K 1500 454SS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced intake manifold along with valve
cover gaskets today. Before I put oil in I
poored coolant in the radiator. Coolant is
dripping somewhere under the motor, I just
can't find it. The truck has not been
cranked at this point. Anyway no oil leak
now that I replaced the gaskets. Just a
new coolant leak on this 1992 Chevy
k1500.

It is difficult. I will try harder to find it. Leaks on to the starter. I follow the drip above transmission.

There is a heater hose fitting on the back of the intake, those like to never seal right or just break off the I take when you try to remove them. I always replace them with a simple barbed fitting and just use a hose clamp. If it isn't that then you might have a freeze plug leaking. These motors are pretty wide open. You should be able to find it

This thread is about a year old, but did you ever find the leak? I'm having the same problem with my 98 Blazer 4x4. Leaks drip drip drip from somewhere above starter or motor mount on the passenger side. Car doesn't even have to be running, as you stated. I'd really love to NOT have to do a head gasket if I can help it. I did the intake gaskets back in 2011 and this doesn't seem to be the same as I remember. Any update? Thanks
