Transmission issues

Asked by Poliszukdoityourself... Feb 20, 2018 at 01:31 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey guys, i have a 94 chevy k1500, with 180k miles.
The guy i bought it from said that the transmission
had been rebuild, but im unsure when. And within
the last few months, whenever my truck shifts in to
overdrive it starts to shake, and lug. Usually
between 45-60 mph, with my RPM around 1200-
1500. When i have my cruise control on it will
sputter and shake until it downshifts in to 3rd gear.
Any suggestions?
Also, when i checked my fluid levels last, my
transmission level wasnt reading on the dipstick.

proper fluid level would be first thing , then if you still have problems maybe you should take it to a shop as long as the drive shaft universals are good and no bolts are loose or missing

They cut corners going to be cheap on the rebuild and didn't spend the 125 on a rebuilt torque converter Sorry about your luck

that's what I was thinking , they did a cheapo job and skipped something , it may have new parts from the first guy but you'll still have to pull it
