Light not working

All my taillights work until I put on my headlights.  
When the lights are on nothing works, not even my
backup lights

Some people call it gremlins I call them Mice. Look for the shorted out wire or wires.

I live in the country so grimlins or mice are possible and I also might be to blame but I am looking more towards a ground but have lost my book and don't know we're the grounds are. Easiest first and hope its not a wire loose but thank you for the reply
