Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1995 Chev. 1500, 4.3, 2wd: Engine shuts-off for no apparent reason. Truck doesn't sputter, but the engine gauges go crazy, plus the radio goes on and off too.

Sound,s like a alternator issue,go have it checked, and your battery all so.

The nut on my battery was loose and my truck will also turn off without sputter or warning, just shuts down I don't even have to go over a bump. its done it idling in park before. I took my battery to auto zone and they check it, my battery was fine, but the nut/bolt going to the positive side was not threading correctly into my battery. I had to clean and hand tighten it to stop it from happening. I agree with the guy above me.
