Will a 4L60E transmission from a 96 firebird fit in a 96 chevy wt?

The salvage yard said that only two
years would fit my model of truck
that it would have to be either from a
96 or 97 and that a car transmission
would be fine.

Yes if it has the chev v-8 bellhousing it will be identical. Some firebirds have the v-6 pattern be careful.

will tht 96 firebird for v6 work in a 98 chevy cheyenne with a maunl 5speed by chance
