blower moter

Asked by masonbocanegra Feb 18, 2015 at 11:05 PM about the 1996 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Cheyenne Extended Cab LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My heater ain't working. I got a new
blower relay but that still didn't help.
But with a copper wire, I jump two
legs and it comes on high and just
high. I can control where it comes
from (defrost, vents, floor) but not
speed.

The motor resistors may be burned out ( there is one resistor for every position on the speed switch) If you keep jumping out the motor you may get a very short, intense flash of heat ... followed by silence
