My 96 silverado. 4x4 works sometimes. Sometimes it doesnt lock up. Floor shift transfer case works good.

Could it be the thermal actuator? Or

i dont know...i would check the switch in the dash power in and out..and grounds and 12 volts at the transf.case...

good news is it works .....also clean all the wire/contacts....
