Hi i have a 96 chevy c1500 with a 5.7 liter and tpi.
I resently installed distruburator cap , rotor, camshaft position sensor, ignition coil, pcv valve ,wires, spark plugs, bank 1 sensor 2 oxygen sensor ,mass airflow system, and fuel filter. My check engine light was on and it pulled those code so i did all the work myself to save some cash. And now my truck is back fireing when its at 1500 rpm. Can anyone help ????
I had the same problems on my 94 Chevy k1500. I replaced alot of sensors and modules like everyone else, and in the end it was the on board computer. Fixed everything
If you replaced camshaft position sensor on a vortec 5.7 then you have to have the cam retard reset back to 0 by scan tool that is capable of making adjustments to the computer or take it to a shop for the adjustment. Unlike old school distributors you have to be within +/- 3 degrees of TDC for the computer to compensate making it near impossible to do it by hand.
