I'm replacing the brakes and rotors on my truck but I can't get the caliper to go back on. I've tried using a C clamp to compress the caliper as much as I can but I still need 1/8".

I'm having this trouble on both sides, I tried putting
the old rotor on with the new pads and still couldn't
get the caliper on.

Try it with the bleeder valve open? Sometimes when the rubber hoses are going bad (collapsed) they can prevent fluid from returning to the master cylinder. In other words, you can't compress the calipers enough even with the clamp.

I will give that a shot tonight, I did open the cover to the brake fluid reservoir on the master cylinder to help the pressure escape. Will I have to flush the brake line if I open the bleeder valve?

You can see in this picture that the caliper isn't all the way down. So I am really hoping you are right.
