What all needs to be changed when putting a 350 in, rather than the stock 305?

My buddy has a 1997 Chevy Cheyenne that he blew the motor on, i
understand its a 305, and if i did the swap i would want to put in a 350, but i
dont know what to get, is it a Throttle Body Injected intake? Ive heard that it
is EFI but i dont fully understand what the difference is if there is any. Being
a 97, it would still need to pass emissions, so the computer system would
have to sync up, if its not needed i would prefer not to have to replace the
computer so if i go with a 350 could i use the 305 computer? Thanks in

You need a 96 and up year model engine. The earlier ones are the old tbi engines and the one you have is called a vortec. Google the engines and you can visually tell the difference pretty quick. If you run a 350 you need to run the computer for it. It's very easy to swap the computer, if I remember it mounts under the hood anyway. Just get it from whatever you grab the motor from. Make sure it's the same trans as yours, (automatic or manual).
