Can I replace the motor out of a 98 Chevy silverado 1500 with the motor out of a 88?

The 98 is all power windows, locks etc
while the 88 has nothing power

they both came with 5.7l engines but the older one uses different heads, intake and cam. It can all be transferred over. The 98's heads and intake are nessesary. The cam on the 88 is very wimpy and would highly recommend changing. I think Bohol is thinking of the 5.3 that came out in 99
