99' chevy 5.7L suburban Vortex engine misfires at high speed when engine revs up over 3000 RPM
a new spider, distributer, coil and fuel pump have been installed along with all
ignition wires and plugs
checked all those. It really appears electrical since the misfirre is very rapid and constant. if I let off on the gas pedal the engine resets and then all works great again.
Had a Tahoe that would do the same thing found out is was an intake gasket leak, causing a lean reading on number 3 and 5 cylinders, but could only feel a single misfire. Replaced the gaskets and no more problem, but tranny man is right about having it live data scanned, so the fuel trims can be seen in real time and if anything else is out whack.
I actually had the intake gasket replaced too!
Then go for a live data scan.
May want to check the engine compression.
