my security light comes on fuel pump comes on small battery light on truck wont even crank

Asked by John Jan 24, 2016 at 10:33 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet C/K 1500 LS Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I get in, my security light is blinking, my small battery light indicator is
on , my fuel pump engages when I turn the key to on but when I try to
crank it, I dont even get a response. I tried the disconnect battery reset,
didnt work. Tried the turn ignition on for 10 minutes three times but it didnt
work. Tried the open and close door, turn on right signal then left and start
it, didnt work this way until I went thru this and then pushed the security
button under the dash then start. This only worked once.
I attempted to remove starter then re-attached it and it turned over.
I dont know how to diagnose it.

Almost sounds like a bad connection or bad wire from the battery if you removed the starter then re-installed it. When resetting the security, did the security light stop flashing before you tried starting it?
