how you no when a tranmission go out

when my truck get hot it dont want to go forward or bag up when it get hot

You'll KNOW when it doesn't shift or move forward. Or, when, you press on the gas and the engine just revs up and you're not going anywhere. Your car is more than 15 years old and has how many miles? Take it to your mechanic for a complete evaluation. Good luck.
