93 chevy silverado ext cad 3500 long wheel base 4l80e trans. Six bolt has no park/neutral switch/454TBI. Work on a 95 Chevy Silverado 3500 1 ton short wheel base 454TBI. 7 bolt mine has a park/Neutr
The replacement trans 4l80e hydromatic
doesn't have park/neutral switch and shaft
to short. Can I change the shaft with the
original shaft from mine? And the
replacement trans tail shaft is two inches
longer 8 inches where mine is 6 inches can i
just change them out. And one more thing is
it ok to bolt a six bolt bell housing to a seven
I think I can still bolt it up the torch converter lined up with fly wheel. And I should be able to take trans filter off and replace the shaft for park/neutral switch. But as for the two inches difference.......
Sounds like you got the wrong transmission, changing the shaft is not and easy job, the tranny has to be disassembled to do so, adding a neutral safty switch may also involve changing out the shift shaft, and your not going to,get the bell housing bolts to lone up.
Could I gut it out and put it all in my transmission case
Does any one have a 1995 chevy Silverado 3500 1 ton 454 TBI 4l80e transmission with overdrive park/neutral switch
How can I make it work
You could do that but you would be better off getting the right one. Oh I just saw you are looking. If you want a good tranny try B&M transmissions, expensive but they last.
Your other alternative is too have your existing transmission overhauled at a local tranny shop, then you could add some of the beefed up componets to do away with the weak points.
