I have a 1999 Chevy k3500 engine went I'm putting in a 1985 that I got cheep will it work in my truck

Its going to be a lot of work, you should have the transmission for that year also, 1999, since everything is controlled by a OBDII computer, and transmission module. The '85 has a OBD1 computer running the '85 engine & trans. Computer, wiring harness, and transmission control module all would need to be switched out to run the '99.
