where is the plug/junction-wire that you unplug for the timing when you smog

Asked by LeiaAnn Mar 05, 2014 at 07:09 PM about the 1992 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

went to the smog shop and the guy said he could'nt smog my car because he could'nt
find the junction to unplug a  wire to retard the timing.  It may be called an est terminal but
I'm not sure. the mechanic just told me it was a "little beige wire with a black stripe' and
that it is 'usually' by the brake booster. - I guess he thought I was a girl and therefor not
very 'car smart'...  Anyone have a schematic ?

I have a 93 350 caprice and all I know is it is a brown wire with a black stripe by the firewall and all you have to do is unplug it.
