No start

Asked by Buffalobill1003 Jun 15, 2017 at 09:01 AM about the 1995 Buick Riviera Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car has no power to the fuel pump. Checked all
fuses, switched relay with known good one. Have
an issue with the ign switch, not the cylinder.
Sometimes won't crank but tap on the switch and
then cranks. Bypassed the VATS key problem
couple years ago with the diode trick and worked
perfectly. What energizes the fuel pump?

In additional to the ^^^^ answer.. question I have , does the engine turn over w/o starting but after sitting it does start? And does the engine stop w/o warning? If so, on my 95 Riviera I changed the crankshaft sensor. But my suggestion is to have a diagnostics test performed to prevent cost and headaches .
