2004 Buick Rendezvous

Asked by Feb 12, 2017 at 01:43 PM about the 2004 Buick Rendezvous CX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When starting my car recently i
would hear a clicking sound but
the car would still start. Then I
noticed everytime i turned the
car off the clock would go back
to 12 after setting it. Today I
tried to open the door with the
key fob and the key fob is dead,
along with the battery.  Battery
is a year and a half old. Not sure
now if it's the battery,  alternator
or starter?

Was the battery light lit up on the dash when the car was running recently? Some batteries will short at only a year and half.

Battery light on is a charging issue, so alternator.

The battery light has never come on while all of the above listed problems were going on.
