ignition switch

Asked by GuruZZHJR Oct 12, 2017 at 12:00 PM about the 1992 Chevrolet Blazer 2-Door 4WD

Question type: General

When i start my 1992 blazer the ignition switch
does not always return. I can just bump it forward
a little and it unsticks. Is this problem the switch or
the column.

It is the ignition switch, go grab one from the scrap yard. The switch is not locking in where it can turn the entire key. Similar issues in my 98 Blazer. Needs a new ignition switch, not the column. This isn't an electrical problem, could be the key cylinder as well, or as simple as a bent key. Do not replace the entire column without investigating this options first!
