I have to reattach severed wires on passenger side
headlight on an 1991 reatta.colored wires are no
problem.are the black wires all ground wires and
will it matter which ones I connect together or are
they location specific?

You should only be talking about 3 wires........yes the black one is ground. Look at the wires on the drivers side.......they are the same color wise. Not sure what your problem is but those wires break because the wiring to the headlight was routed incorrectly.........see attached picture Here is a great source of Reatta information .....the link is to the AACA discussion forum https://forums.aaca.org/forum/11-buick-reatta/
