Do you know if the cable is broken? If so you will need to lay on your back looking from underneath the car and see if you can find the cable that releases the hood latch. You may be able to reach under there and open it...

I thought mine wasn't working right either. I pulled the inside latch and it release like it snapped apart. Then I barely noticed that the hood was actually released but had to pry it open to slide my hand in to pull the latch from under the hood, which was a tight squeeze for my "manhands". Hope this is your problem too because I don't think finding the cable is going to be an easy thing to do!
