Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The headliner on my 2002 LeSabre Limited is falling down and I am trying
to remove the headliner board to re-upholster it, a job which I have done
before on other cars. But in trying to remove the sunvisors, I can't get them
completely off because I can't reach the connector for the visor light; it is
located way back from the front edge and about 12 inches from the visor
itself, so I would have to reach my hand up above the headliner board to
disconnect it and I'm afraid I will break the board. (On other cars I have
done, the connector is directly above the visor mount so it comes out when
the visor is removed and is easily disconnected.)
I also haven't figured out how to remove the center console that has the
interior dome lights and garage door controls - does it just snap on or is
there a screw hidden somewhere to remove? I don't want to break it to get
it off. Any help with this removal would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to get the headliner out and re-covered, and re- installed. The visor electrical connectors were hard to get to, but I was able to pull them out past the front edge of the headliner and disconnect them, and lower the headliner after removing the visors. The center console had two connectors that I demated before lowering the headliner, then I was able to remove the console from the headliner - it was held on by snap- in mounts. Before re-installing, I pulled the visor wires loose from the glue holding them in place, and pulled them over to the visor mount holes so I could connect them after the headliner was in place. The headliner was hard to take in/out through the right rear door, but I was able to do it.

Charlie, can you help me to properly remove the board to re fabric it? My question is which trim needs to be removed, where to start?
