Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My lever control for cold -heat doesn't work
all the time.It mainly malfunctions when
going to heat. The heater core is fine and it
has been flushed.Wouldn't work for 3 days
moved lever to heat and temperature didn't
change. Then last night my son moved it to
warm and it started working. It also happend
last year. I just moved lever back and forth
twice and it corrected. But this time it didn't
work the same.Any idea what's going on
with it and which part is malfunctioning?
