Fuel Gage problems

How do I get my fuel gage to work ? When
I put gas in it immediately goes to full then
after driving a couple of minutes it goes to
empty .

it is most likely a loose connection or your fuel sending unit needs to be changed.

sounds right to me...check the ground wire also... maybe the bulk head fitting on the fire wall....

Try looking at the fuel gage when you fill the tank...it make take two people. I think you will see the reverse happen...it will show empty until just before it is full, then jump to full. If that is the case it is the resistance coil in the sending unit. The coil of wire is probably broken just below where the wiper contacts it when full, as soon as you drive enough to lower the gas level and the wiper gets on the broken side, the reading will go to E

It was full of gas and stuck on empty. They erased all the codes and rebooted the computer. No more issues.
