My car wont go over 2500 rpm

My car will drive fine and shift fine no engine light
or nothing but the rpms wont go over 2500 what
could cause this it doesnt rev high or anything just
stays around 2000 to 2500 and revs at 1000

Does it have electric throttle?i think you need a scanner to check your tps and accelerate pedal. You don’t realize how much you depend on your scanner till you can’t use it.
