Passenger seat won't move

Asked by GuruWH1RW May 08, 2018 at 10:36 AM about the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country Touring LWB FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

in my My 2006 Chrysler Town and country touring minivan the front
passenger seat will not move back and forth. The motor seems to work. But I
think it got bumped and somehow jammed. The seat is ALL the way forward,
otherwise I would not worry about it.
I spoke to one guy who repairs cars and said I may need to get a new
carriage and have it installed?Labor $190 + cost of the parts. or just uninstall
everything and disconnect the motor and reinstall it at the position I want.

It is possible that some object is jamming the track where the seat moves. Have you tried spraying a lubricant on the tracks? If there is more than one motor, maybe the one you think is working is not. I have seen this happen and the problem was with the fuses, check them. As for your last choice, fixed position, once you remove the seat it makes sense to replace whatever part is not functioning. I think!

I saw a video where you can adjust the seat position manually. I will try your suggestion and the manual adjustment and report back. Thanks!

Perfect, there are videos that show how to do lots of things by yourself.

I got a small square drill bit that fit into the seat mechanism on the side. With a power drill was able to move the seat back to a medium position. The power button know works but not as well as before. But it will do.
